This board was developed for us in England by Donny and Katie Wright of Still Stoked Longboard Skates.
The objective was to make a carving board in the old style aimed at surfers, as a hybrid between a true longboard and the typical skateboard. The development of the board began in 2003 at Llangennith Beach, South Wales, the epicentre for the Gower surfing community, based out of Swansea. Research and testing of the boards was done by Donny, the Llangennith grommets and pro surfers alike. Guts Griffiths, 16 stone and proud, rode the board with the tightest return carves. He avoided wheel bite in all but the hardest and most extreme carves.

With the Retro Carve you get as close to the tarmac as realistically possible, thereby achieving the nearest onshore ride to a sea wave experience. To facilitate this, the deck was shaped around one of the world's best and most famous trucks, the Independent 136 , on the orange bushings, to allow for the softest and loosest carve. The trucks are combined with the finest Abec 11 72a Flashback wheels and an ATI vibra pad interface. Legendary Bones Reds bearings are fitted as standard. Gavin Surrey at Surrey Skateboards provided the new British Black Holeys hardware.

The decks themselves have been crafted with pride in England. Katie's Wright etched them at our request with the old school Still Stoked logo that we love. Cover grip tape as standard.

The Retro Carve has proved to be Still Stoked's most successful board and is a great ride for flat street and park skating, or for hill carving. It's ready to go, straight out of the box.This is a board for the committed road skater and carver, who is either a surfer skater, a ride to work skater, or both. Built to get out there and enjoy.
