In the words of Shaun Deller "I like hats. They can keep your head warm, hold back your hair, block sun or rain, sop up sweat on your forehead, and look stylish while doing all of these things. My hats are inspired by and made for cycling. But hey, it's cool to wear them even if you aren't a cyclist. All of my fabrics are recycled from quality thrift store garments made from wool, cotton, and sometimes linen. I like natural fibres because they feel good, look good, smell good, are non-flamable, breathable and biodegradable. I prefer to use recycled fabrics because there is such a surplus out there that goes unused. This surplus is like potential energy waiting to be transformed into something creative and useful. Here in my small studio this energy is reincarnated in the form of hats".

Deller Recyclist Apparel began in 2004 when artist/designer, Shaun Deller began making a few custom bike caps for himself and friends. His idea was, and still is, to make a small line of hats with function, fashion, simplicity and sustainability in mind. Made to be worn under a helmet, on the town or in the forest.

All of the caps are designed, and cut in Shaun's little trailer studio in Deer Island, Oregon.

The nature of the Deller caps is that they are mostly one offs.They are really well made, a great fit with a peak just the right size. We get a batch when we can fom this skilled maker. They are not coming from some factory production line, its just Shaun and some friends who help with the sewing. Shaun also like to do other stuff. He goes away seeking adventures. He teaches wilderness and nature skills in the forests of Oregon.

The Wheely style cap is like a painter cap or military cadet cap but better. Its made of 3 panels for a better fit.
