Back in the day before luggage on wheels became the norm, our heroes carried their kit.
This kit bag by Heritage Research is a wonderful reproduction of the original USAAF Type AN 6505-1 aviator kit bag.

Made from a stout, military grade 100% cotton canvas, the bag is an exact replica of the original, in the early war, pale khaki shade. It is fastened by way of two locking zippers, that meet at the top, with a further closure flap with press-studs, as on the original bags. It has the correct AN stenciling on the side, internal pockets which are selvaged with 100% cotton HBT tape.

Featuring the squadron patch of Joe Kennedy's USAAF 383rd/364th Ftr Grp. 8th AF, European Theatre Fighter group who flew B-24 Liberators from RAF Fersfield in England.
