If you are not familiar with Marco the Pirate you have to read this book. He was an incredible climber and descender of mountains. His fast attacks on the mountains were a great sight to behold. Check out his record times he did on the Alpe D'Huez. We remember his downfall and his vices but pre-Lance for a period he was the best cyclist in the world winning both the Giro d'Italia and Le Tour in the same year. He beat Lance on the Ventoux in 2000.
